Reality star Kim Woodburn has sadly died aged 83

Reality star and professional cleaner, Kim Woodburn, has died at the age of 83 after a short illness.

Her manager is reported to have said (via the BBC): “It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness. Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person. Her husband Peter is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate.

“We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career.”

Kim first shot to fame on the cleaning programme, How Clean Is Your House?, on Channel 4, which she co-starred in along with Aggie Mackenzie.

Each episode saw the pair clean a participant’s messy home and share science and housework tips along the way. It ran for six years between 2003 and 2009.

Kim later went on to appear on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, which saw her gain cult status online and be dubbed a ‘hun’ icon amongst a new generation of fans.

She entered the house on day 11 and made it to the final, and her lexicon while in the house spawned a thousand memes, many including the phrases ‘adulterer’ and ‘chicken-livered’.

The television personality also appeared on the likes of This Morning, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, Celebrity Come Dine With Me and Loose Women.

Kim was originally born as Patricia McKenzie, but later changed her name after being inspired by the actor Kim Novak. She married Peter Woodburn in 1979 and the pair resided in Cheshire.
