AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are investigating after a fatal auto-pedestrian collision late Friday night.
Officers responded near the 400 block of South US Highway 183 Southbound at 11:36 p.m., where the unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police say the driver was not impaired and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
This incident marks Austin’s 39th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 43 fatalities.
The investigation into this crash is ongoing, and officials noted that fatality information may change as the investigation progresses.
