New boyfriend, new single … new album? That appears to be what Cardi B is teasing on social media. “Seven years, and the time has come,” she says while swathed in black and escorted through a palatial estate by some crows in a June 22 teaser. It’s pretty much how the Norse god Odin would announce his latest studio album. “Seven years of love and life and loss.” Wild to think Invasion of Privacy was seven years ago. It feels like yesterday, but yesterday also feels like seven years ago, so take that for what you will. Cardi continues her affirmation work in the video: “I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma.” Breakup album alert! We have a breakup album incoming, folks. Sorry to Offset.
Cardi B commits murder on her album cover for Am I the Drama?. Not just with her look, but with the ravens she’s posing with.
Cardi began the album rollout on New Music Friday, with her latest single, “Outside.” She performed the song at the Spotify Beach at Cannes Lions on June 18. “Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a bitch,” she rapped in France. Again, sorry to Offset. We’re still looking for a 2025 song of the summer; maybe it’s “Outside.”
