Dort, Williams Make History as Thunder Land Two on NBA All-Defensive Teams for First Time

The NBA announced today that Thunder guard/forward Luguentz Dort has been named to the 2024-25 All-Defensive First Team, while Jalen Williams earned Second Team honors, the first such recognition for both players and the first time in franchise history multiple Thunder players have made an All-Defensive Team in the same season. Dort received 81 first place votes and 18 second places votes to finish with the 3rd highest total.

Dort and Williams anchored a Thunder defense that led the NBA in defensive rating (106.6), steals, turnovers forced, deflections, and points off turnovers, helping OKC finish with a league-best 68-14 record.

Dort and JDub Numbers

Dort averaged 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and a career-best 1.11 steals while shooting a career-high 41.2% from three in 71 starts. Williams averaged 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.61 steals (7th in the NBA) in 69 starts.

The duo helped limit opponents to just 12 30-point games all season, fewest in the league. Dort becomes the third player in Thunder history to earn First Team All-Defensive honors, while he and Williams are the fifth and sixth overall to receive All-Defensive recognition since 2009-10, the second-most of any NBA team.
